Shooting leaves one dead in Evergreen

One person is dead after a reported shooting Wednesday night.
Police were called to the 500 block of Evermeadow Road S.W. just after 11 p.m. The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Joel Gary Geddes.
Neighbours say they heard six to eight gun shots and saw a person fleeing from the scene.
Ivy lives just a few doors down. He arrived at 6 a.m. to find out he couldn’t enter his home, as investigators had blocked off a large area of the street.
“My main concern was just to see and make sure there wasn’t anything in my house,” he said, adding he’s shocked because it’s a family neighbourhood and he’s never heard of anything happening there before.
The Homicide Unit is investigating.
