Calgary Economic Development gives energy sector a boost with new video

Calgary Economic Development is hoping to inject a bit of humour into the pipeline debate and tug on Canadians’ patriotic heartstrings at the same time with a new video supporting the oil and gas industry.
It features Canadian actor Andrew Phung from ‘Kim’s Convenience.’
Calgary Economic Development CEO Mary Moran told CityNews, the video is meant to accomplish a couple of things.
“We think people need to make that connection between the need for petroleum products and the life that they live, but in addition to that, that we’re all things energy and that we’re a responsible producer,” she said.
Moran said the energy sector contributes a lot to the economy in Calgary, Alberta’s economy, and also Canada’s economy.
