Pet owners celebrating furry friends Wednesday

National Pet Day on Wednesday is a day dedicated to celebrating the happiness and benefits pets bring to our lives.
Pet Valu’s Rose Ferrante says pets aren’t just a companion.
“There’s nothing more rewarding then being greeted when you return home by a delighted dog, or sitting and watching TV with a purring cat in your lap. It really, really changes your mood,” she said.
Ferrante said when picking a pet you need to be honest with yourself about your lifestyle.
She adds if kids are involved, make sure they don’t have any allergies.
