Gas prices rising yet again

It may sound like a broken record, but if you need to fill up, get to a gas station soon!

660 NEWS warned you about price hikes Monday, and by Tuesday they had jumped about a dime.

Gas Buddy’s Dan McTeague says we’re not done yet, and is calling for a five cent bump Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.

“(There’s) speculation that the pipeline, the Explorer pipeline which draws gasoline from the Gulf Coast in Texas and Louisiana, has had a rupture and of course, may not be fixed until later in the week. That’s creating a bit of a run on supply and of course, pushing prices up dramatically,” he said.

McTeague says whole sale prices have jumped more than 30 cents a gallon in the U.S. in the past week, leading Western Canadian stations to have to pay about $1.13 per litre for their supply.
