Sunshine Village access road parking gets temporary green light

Just in time for ski/snowboard season, Sunshine Village has won a legal battle with Parks Canada to allow guests to park on the access road that leads to the mountain resort. The parking lot at the base of the mountain must be full first.
In a Thursday announcement, Sunshine Village said the federal courts set aside the decision to ban parking until there is an opportunity to provide a provision for alternative off-site parking.
Parks Canada had sent a letter to the resort in November, 2016 that suggested parking along the road would no longer be allowed, starting in fall, 2017.
Looking for a viable solution, Sunshine said it has presented several feasible and reasonable parking designs to Parks Canada.
