CPS identify Sunalta homicide victim; looking for person of interest

Calgary police have identified the victim of the city’s latest homicide and they’re also looking for a person of interest.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, first responders were called to the Sunalta CTrain station for reports of a fight between two men, but by the time they arrived, one man had serious injuries and was declared dead on scene.

That victim has been identified as 52-year-old Eric Lavallee of no fixed address.

Surveillance video from the station has allowed police to identify a person of interest in the case, named Mark Lecaine.

They believe Lecaine knows more about the incident and that he was known the victim prior to the attack.
