Kananaskis Bear Day helps Albertans get comfortable with bear spray

Want to learn how to properly defend yourself from a bear?
Kananaskis Bear Day is the place to be Saturday to get some hands-on experience.
“A part of our event is doing some bear spray demos and giving people the chance to use some of the bear spray,” Daniella Rubeling with Alberta Parks said, adding that by doing this people will get a chance to become comfortable with bear spray if they ever need to use it.
The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., Saturday at the Canmore Nordic Centre and includes multiple bear spray sessions mixed in with conservation and safety talks, so, visitors can drop-in anytime.
