Be careful about where you park across Calgary – a snow route parking went into effect Monday night.
Officers with the Calgary Parking Authority and tow truck drivers began to ticket and tow violators from Mission and surrounding communities shortly after the 6 p.m. deadline.

The Calgary Parking Authority says 606 tickets were handed out between 6 p.m. Monday, and 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Eleven vehicles had to be towed out of the way so plows could do their work.
The ban is in place for the next 72 hours, unless it is lifted early by the city.
The city’s snow routes are marked by blue signs with a snowflake, and Calgarians can also check out the routes online.
Chris McGeachy, with the city’s roads department, says the last time we had one was three years ago.
“The past few winters have been relatively nice; we haven’t had a lot of accumulation. This is a winter city and we’re back on the winter cycle. It’s just a necessary evil of having to try and deal with the snow.”
Drivers who don’t move their vehicles could see them either ticketed or towed.
