Hitmen begin B.C. road trip with loss to Rockets

The Kelowna Rockets rolled to an 8-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday night at Prospera Place.

Calgary Flames prospect Dillion Dube scored twice and set up two others for the Rockets, while Nick Merkley and Calvin Thurkauf also recorded two goals and two assists for the home team.

Beck Malenstyn and Luke Coleman scored for the Hitmen.

Kelowna outshot Calgary 41 – 27.

The Hitmen,18-23-7-2, continue a three game road trip through B.C. with a game against the Vancouver Giants on Friday, before wrapping up the trip in Victoria against the Royals on Saturday.
