Prime Minister Trudeau stops in Calgary to talk pipelines

For the first time since approving two major pipeline projects, and rejecting another, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in Calgary.
Trudeau will address the City’s Chamber of Commerce over breakfast at the BMO Centre.
He is expected to talk about the need for the pipeline projects, but also the need for environmental action.
The Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion would triple the capacity of an existing pipeline that runs from near Edmonton to Burnaby, B.C.
Trudeau’s government also approved the replacement of the aging Enbridge line 3 from Alberta to Wisconsin, but rejected the proposed Northern Gateway line from Alberta through northwestern B.C.
The visit to Alberta follows a stop in Vancouver Tuesday where Trudeau announced two emergency towing vessels will operate on the west coast and help keep large disabled commercial ships away from the shoreline.
The Prime Minister will also meet with Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi and will visit the MacPhail School of Energy at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
