Driver passes away after suffering medical emergency behind the wheel in the NE

Police believe a man suffered a medical emergency before he drove off the road and into a tree, on Memorial Dr. near St. George’s Dr Tuesday morning.

The man was extricated from the vehicle just before 10 a.m. and was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The crash led to significant delays on eastbound Memorial between the Bridgeland CTrain station and the zoo.
