Stampeders hope to cement perfect regular-season home record

Although the Calgary Stampeders have already clinched top spot in the CFL, they want to add their names to the record books.

They enter Friday’s tilt versus the Toronto Argonauts with an 8-and-0 record at McMahon Stadium. In the league’s history, only six teams have won all of their regular-season home games. Calgary is already on that list for both the 1993 and 1994 seasons.

The players aren’t trying to think about history or statistics too much though. Instead, they say they just want to focus on improving ahead of the playoffs.

“For us, [we have to] go out there and understand that they’ve got nothing to lose,” receiver Anthony Parker said about Toronto. “We’ve got to play a good game.”

“Our mindset is to finish the season undefeated at home,” quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell told the media. “If we do that, we get to the Grey Cup and that’s the way we’re approaching everything.”

Calgary is 14-1-and-1 going into Friday’s action, with a 13-game winning streak and a 15-game unbeaten streak.

Kickoff is 7 p.m.
