Web streaming service Shomi says it will shut down

Shomi, a joint partnership between Rogers and Shaw created to compete with Netflix, says it will shut down operations as of November 30th.

Shomi Senior Vice President and General Manager David Asch says the business climate and online video marketplace have changed markedly in the last few years. He says combined with the fact that the business is more challenging to operate than expected, they’ve decided to wind down operations.

Rogers is the parent of 660 NEWS.
