Harper may use annual Stampede BBQ to resign

Former Prime Minister Stephen Harper is set to give his first public remarks since the election, giving a speech at his annual Calgary Stampede barbeque in Calgary Saturday.

it’s widely believed that Harper will be resigning as an MP this summer after losing power in the October vote to the Liberals, and this may be the event where it is made official.

Interim Conservative Leader Rona Ambrose will be joining Harper at the event at Heritage Park at 7 p.m.

Harper hasn’t spoken a word to the media or inside the House of Commons since stepping down as Conservative Party Leader

He kept his Calgary seat and has only appeared in the house to vote.
