Community group opposing SW BRT hosts meeting

A group opposing the Southwest Bus Rapid Transit project is hosting an informal meeting Tuesday evening.

The PBP Community Consortium is made up of residents of Palliser, Bayview, and Pumphill.

It says the project is over budget, will create traffic nightmares, and will restrict access to Rockyview Hospital.

It is also concerned over a proposed transit-oriented development at Glenmore Landing, which would include high density and subsidized housing.

The meeting takes place at the community centre on Palliser Drive at 7 p.m.

Another group opposing the Southwest BRT called Ready Engage has made headlines for clashing with city hall over the project.
