Teenager facing murder charges in Forest Lawn death

A 16-year old boy is facing murder charges in the death of a woman this week in the southeast.
Police say the victim is the boy’s common-law stepmother.
An autopsy showed the 33-year old woman died from stab wounds.
Police were called to a home in Forest Lawn Tuesday night where family members gathered at the house for a party when it got out of hand, investigators say alcohol was a factor.
The teenager cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, nor can the victim because that could ID the teen.
The boy goes to court on Thursday; he is facing one count of second degree murder.
The death is Calgary’s 10th homicide this year.
