Lac La Biche welcoming thousands of evacuees

Thousands of evacuees are staying in Lac La Biche, between Fort McMurray and Edmonton.
Speaking in the community’s reception centre, Mayor Omer Moghrabi tells BT, they’re prepared to help for the long term.
“We have just registered close to 1,600 people here but it’s double that number because a lot of them we’ve placed in campsites, we have another Hamlet in Plamondon, they’ve gone to friends, we’ve tried to match them up with people,” he said.
Moghrabi said the spirit of helping others, is normal for northern Alberta.
