The YYC Hot Chocolate Fest picks a winner!

The month long competition featured 33 local coffee shops, restaurants, chocolatiers and hotels, and more than 23 hundred reviews came in from Calgarian’s, with a portion of the proceeds going to Calgary Meals on wheels.

Coming in with YYC’s best hot chocolate, is Light Cellar in Bowness.

Christine Conley, Community Coordinator with Calgary Meals on Wheels, describes the winning drink.

“They’re one of our new vendors actually, so they just kind of blew us out of the water with their wonderful hot chocolate. They actually had a really interesting concoction with like a mushroom tea that was blended with coconut butter and vanilla, I mean they had a really interesting drink and apparently it worked really really well a lot of people loved it.”

The location that raised the most funds over the festival was Higher Ground Cafe, in Kensington, and the winner of the city’s best spirited hot chocolate was Cravings Market Restaurant on Fairmount drive Southeast.
