National Music Centre hoping to open this summer

It’s a milestone for the National Music Centre.

Work started Tuesday on installing various exhibitions.

Director of Programs Adam Fox tells 660 NEWS, it’s pretty exciting to see things starting to take shape.

“Five stories of exhibitions in the east block, 22 gallery stages, we designed these exhibitions to really create a music festival-like experience, we didn’t want to do something strictly academic or chronological,” he said.

The National Music Centre will also be home to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and The Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame collection.

Fox says they hope to open to the public this summer, although they don’t have a specific date yet.
