What’s new at the Calgary Zoo for 2016

The Calgary Zoo will be welcoming a new animal to the fold this year.

Larissa Mark with the organization told 660 NEWS, the new addition will arrive sometime this month.

“Zoo visitors are going to be able to meet a brand new snow leopard that we are going to be introducing,” she said. “They’re such a beautiful majestic animal that we’re fortunate to be able to join us in the winter because they are winter animals.”

A formal announcement will be made soon on when Calgarians can see her.

The zoo will also be welcoming some new babies in the Canadian Wilds in the spring as well as announcing some new changes for the exhibit sometime in February or March.

The Penguin Walk and Dinos Alive will continue for 2016 and Illuminasia will be back in the fall.
