Calgary teacher wins award

A Grade One teacher in Calgary has won a national prize for her dedication to learning.

Elysa Morin, from Prince of Wales School in the city’s southeast is one of three recipients of the Canadian Family Teacher Awards.

Morin is described as passionate, and innovative, incorporating music, humour and movement into learning.

Educators were nominated by members of their community, and then it was narrowed down to 12 semi-finalists where an online vote decided the winners.

An assembly early Tuesday morning will present Morin with $2,500 dollars for school programming and supplies.
