Bank of Canada is commemorating the historic reign of Queen Elizabeth II with a special edition of a crisp new $20 bill.
Unlike any other Canadian bank note, in this 2015 edition, the queen is shown wearing a crown.
The portrait placed in the note’s window is based on a 1951 picture by Canadian photographer Yousuf Karsh about 6 months after the Queens accession to the throne.
The Royal Canadian Mint is commemorating the historic reign with a special edition coin of 99.99% pure silver.
Her Majesty passed an historic marker Wednesday when her reign officially surpassed that of her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria.
The date marker makes her the longest reigning Sovereign in Canada’s history.
