Company steps up to fill backpacks at Women In Need Society

These are tough times, but there is still a lot of generosity in Calgary.
Back in July, the Women in Need Society put out a call for help after losing the major sponsor of their backpack program for low-income children.
Executive Director Laura Dickson says it wasn’t long before they started getting calls.
“As a result of the interview on 660 NEWS, we had three organizations, three businesses in Calgary step up immediately. Inter Pipeline was the first to do so and they took on the project, the entirety of it,” she said.
Dickson says over 40 Inter Pipeline employees volunteered their time this week to fill 350 backpacks with over $20,000 worth of school supplies for students in Kindergarten right up to Grade 12.
Inter Pipeline will continue to sponsor the backpack program through 2017.
