Premier-Designate Rachel Notley says she sensed an NDP win well before the election

Premier-Designate Rachel Notley admitted in an interview that she could feel her party’s win in her bones well before election.

Notley said she was in a hotel room on the campaign trail when she saw an updated poll putting the New Democrats in the lead, and she said she just knew.

As for the official takeover, there are a few things slowing down the transition.

The riding of Calgary-Glenmore is undergoing a re-count after a tie between PC incumbent Linda Johnson and the NDP’s Anam Kazim.

The final results will be in on May 15th.

Their first caucus meeting was held on May 9th, and the caucus itself is made up of a number of new young faces.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper released a statement Saturday, in which he said he’s looking forward to working with the new premier.

It’s unclear when Notley will be sworn in as Alberta’s 17th premier.
