Swann retains Calgary seat; Clark makes history winning Alberta Party’s first seat

David Swann retained his Calgary Mountain View riding for the Liberals. Swann is the lone Liberal in the legislature.

“It’s a tremendous privilege to serve Alberta as an MLA,” Swann said.

He added, it was time Alberta made a change and that he looks forward to working with Rachel Notley.

Greg Clark won the Alberta Party’s first seat in the provincial legislature.

Clark, who is the party’s leader, beat Tory Education Minister Gordon Dirks in Calgary Elbow, a seat once held by former premier Alison Redford.

The Alberta Party has been working to unite voters in the middle of the political spectrum against the Progressive Conservatives.
