University Professor inks Hockey book; proceeds go to Kidsport Canada

A University of Lethbridge professor is telling stories from the ice, the locker room and the bench.

Dr. Gord Hunter’s new book recaps the lives of everyday hockey moms, dads, players and coaches.

No stranger to the game himself, as he played goalie in recreational leagues until he was 60-years-old, Hunter says Canadians are very passionate about the sport.

“I got thinking that I could write about myself, but it would only be about a chapter,” Hunter said. “There’s probably some other folks that could write, but it would only be about a chapter. So why don’t I gather together a bunch of those, and come up with a book.”

And that’s what he’s done.

“The Older I Get, The Better I Was” features pictures of the people Hunter interviewed for the narrative.

Profits from the book will be donated to Kidsport Canada.
