Peters’ Drive-In second location well underway

It has been an iconic stop for burgers and shakes in Calgary but after 50 years as a one-store operation, Peters’ Drive-In expansion is now well underway.

The small-business success story along 16 Avenue is taking business up the QEII and is now building a restaurant in Red Deer.

Owner Joanne Rowe and her husband bought their Calgary location from the original “Peter” (Gus Pieters) a decade ago and said they have definitely noticed an appetite to expand.

“People we actually had visiting us at the Calgary location from places like Edmonton, Red Deer and all over Alberta quite frankly, actually all over Canada, but certainly a lot of Albertans visiting Peters’ Drive-In, not just Calgarians,” Rowe said.

She said they are hoping to open along Red Deer’s Gasoline Alley towards the end of May. They’re hiring for their soon-to-be second location right now.
