Calgary Opera and the Calgary Stampede partner up

A unique partnership announced Tuesday, the Calgary stampede and Calgary Opera are joining together to create a new rehearsal space.
Bill Mcphee General Director and CEO of Calgary Opera tells 660 news this unique partnership makes sense.
“The opera you would think we’re far apart but ultimately we’re about training young people and artist’s and that’s where we have a common ground”
Mcphee says not only will they have a bigger space for themselves but other groups who can’t find a performance space will be able to use it.
The new building will be on 12th Ave and 5th street S.E. and Mcphee says they plan to be on site by 2018.
