Flames get in on trades early

It’s likely the busiest day of the year for sports media in Canada: NHL Trade Deadline Day.

The Calgary Flames got in on the action early, pulling off a deal Sunday, sending Curtis Glencross to Washington for a couple of draft picks.

This Flames fan tells City News, he’s hoping the team can make some more moves today.

“Yeah, you don’t want to mortgage too much, but if they could bring in maybe a contract that will go on maybe a couple more years; a decent player,” he said.

Some rumblings indicate the team may be willing to move goaltender Kari Ramo.

For all the very latest on deals, listen in to Sportsnet 960 the Fan, which is airing special trade deadline day programming Monday.
