RCMP make arrest after serious assault of a child

RCMP in Northern Alberta have made an arrest in the serious assault of a six-year-old girl.
The child was airlifted from the Paul Band First Nation, about 70km west of Edmonton, to hospital Friday with traumatic injuries.
She remains in the provincial capital, in critical but stable condition.
The identity of the accused will not be released, in order to protect the identity of the child.
The investigation is on-going.
