The Calgary Branch of 100 Women Who Care is presenting a cheque to the Alzheimer Society of Calgary this Christmas.
The $13,000 donation is one of the group’s annual gifts to charity.
Each member contributes $100, and nominates a charity of their choice.
Co-founder Alison Lapzcuk tells CityNews, they’ve wanted to donate to the Alzheimers Society for a while.
“Many families typically don’t reach out for help until after they’ve been dealing with this for two years. It’s a real struggle and the services that the Alzheimer Society provides are a real life saver, ” she said.
