Canada West looking to break gold medal drought at Challenge

The 9th edition of the World Junior ‘A’ Challenge starts Sunday in Kindersley, Saskatchewan with a pair of games.
The United States are the defending champions and will play Switzerland Monday; Canada West, which is made up of players from Manitoba to British Columbia, will play Denmark at 6:30 p.m.
The Western Canadians fell 6-3 to the Americans in a pre-tournament game on Friday.
Nine players from the AJHL as well as Sherwood Park Crusaders Head Coach Tim Fragle are in Kindersley for the event.

Canada West matches up with Russia on Tuesday.
Since the tournament began in 2006 Canada West has collected three gold, three silver and one bronze medal.
