Can Man Dan camps out for the food bank

He’ll be braving the elements, in the name of fighting hunger.

Anti-poverty activist and philanthropist Dan Johnstone will be camping out at the Panorama Save-On-Foods for four days to collect money and grub for the Calgary Food Bank.

Can Man Dan’s fundraiser has become a staple event in Edmonton, where a fundraiser happened last weekend.

“The numbers we raised in four days was over 20,000 pounds of food and about $5,000. It was very successful in four days, in that amount of time, that’s a lot of food,” Johnstone told 660News.

Johnstone will be camped out starting at 8 a.m. and will be accepting donations around the clock up until Monday at 6 p.m.
