Thousands of Grey Cup tickets still up for grabs

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There are still thousands of tickets available for the Grey Cup at BC Place.
Jamie Pitblado with the Grey Cup Festival said the BC Lions being out of the playoffs has likely hurt sales.
“We’re still seeing fans of football and people that want to be part of the experience that the Grey Cup is, but at the same time it’s now going to come down which teams are going to represent the East and the West in the championship game,” Pitblado said.
He said it is not very often the Grey Cup is in Vancouver, where fans are usually treated to warmer weather than when the game is held in colder climates like in Calgary or Saskatoon.
“For us that are in Vancouver in the marketplace, this Grey Cup probably won’t be here for another 7 to 9 years. So, it’s probably your last chance to be part of something so Canadian and unique.”
The event usually sells out, but under 7,000 tickets still remain.
The Grey Cup is November 30.
