St. Paul landing pad still attracting visitors (just not UFOS, yet)

If we ever get a visit from outer space, look no further than St. Paul, Alberta.

The world’s first official UFO landing pad opened there on June 3, 1967.

The Globe and Mail reports, the 130 tonne platform cost 11,000 to build.

It was erected by Canada’s then-defence minister Paul Hellyer who was quoted as saying “UFOs are as real as the airplanes flying overhead.”

Although it hasn’t attracted any other worldly visitors (yet), it has captured the attention of many tourists.
