Streamflow advisories

With rain headed into central parts of Alberta the provincial government has issued a series of high streamflow advisories with the potential for flooding later this week.

The alerts cover the Red Deer, Athabasca and North Saskatchewan River basins where smaller streams and tributaries could rise rapidly over the next 36 hours.

The forecast calls for 30 to 70 millimetres of rain between Tuesday and Thursday in some of these areas which might cause rivers to rise as much as 1.5 metres in a short time frame.

Currently there are no advisories or flood concerns for the City of Calgary

The closest area to our city under the alert is Mountain View County.
