Disability community mourns Flaherty

The Council of Canadians with Disabilities said the country has lost a true champion in Jim Flaherty’s death.
Laurie Beachell, council Coordinator, tells The Globe and Mail, Flaherty’s active support was sincere.
The former finance minister implemented several tax changes and supported events like the Special Olympics in his last budget with a nearly $11-million grant.
Flaherty’s son John has participated as baseball player in the Special Olympics.
His other two sons have served as coaches.
