Charges laid in October fatal crash

A 47-year old man has been arrested in connection to a fatal crash last fall.

The crash occurred on October 30th when a Dodge Neon lost control, crossed the centre line on 17th Avenue SW, near 38th Street, and clipped a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Neon then spun off the road into a concrete wall, killing three adult passengers in the car, and leaving the driver in life-threatening condition.

Four adults in the Grand Cherokee were also taken to hospital with various injuries.

It is anticipated the alleged driver of the Neon, Joel Matteson, will be charged with three counts of criminal negligence causing death, three counts of impaired driving causing death, and three counts of driving with a blood alcohol concentration greater than .08 causing death.
