Facebook turns 10

This may make you feel old; Facebook is celebrating its 10th birthday.

What started as an idea at Harvard University has morphed into a billion-dollar business.

Co-founder Mark Zuckerburg tells The Today Show, he thinks of Facebook as a tool for social change, not just a place where people udpate their statuses.

“I always thought that that was this incredibly important thing to have happen,” the co-creator said. “I just never thought that we’d be the ones to help do it. When I look back over the last 10 years, one of the questions I ask myself is why? Why were we the ones to help do this? And I think a lot of what it comes down to is we just cared more.”

Facebook has 1.2 billion users around the world including including more than 19-million Canadians.
