What to do on Christmas day

Most venues across the city will be closed for Christmas but there are still a few things to do.

With the temperatures expected to be above zero the conditions might be perfect to grab your skates and head to an outdoor rink.

The Lions Festival of Lights and the Airdrie Festival Lights are sure to warm even the Grinch’s heart.

If a flick is more you style sure there are the holiday classics like The Grinch, Miracle on 34th Street and of course Die Hard, but there are some new flicks hitting the big screen on Christmas.

47 Ronin, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Wolf of Wall Street and Grudge Match all make their debuts.

If you feel the need to give places like the Mustard Seed and the Drop-In Centre could always use the help.

Getting there should be much easier with far less cars expected to be on the road and Calgary Transit offering free rides all day.
