Province announces new schools in Calgary and Edmonton

A new school is coming to Calgary’s west end.

The Alberta government has announced a new Catholic elementary school will be built in Aspen Woods.

Minister of Education, Jeff Johnson made the announcement in Calgary today, but it’s not known when construction will begin on the school that will service kindergarten through grade six.

Another school is in the works for Edmonton and both are expected to hold as many as 750 students.

Edmonton’s new school will be built in Windermere, benefitting kindergarten to Grade 9 Catholic Separate School District students.

These two schools will go along with four others to be announced later this month.
