Puppy burned

Workers at a Calgary animal shelter are horrified after the discovery of a badly burned puppy.

The seven-week-old pup was apparently abandoned in Saskatchewan.

Deanna Thompson with AARCS, the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society tells 660News, “We got a call from a citizen who had found him. He had severe burns on his head and face.”

She adds that the pup they’ve named ‘Nero,’ underwent surgery Friday and the burns were so severe that he lost both his ears.

Thompson says they’ll be investigating to try to figure out who’s responsible.

All they know now is that the pup wandered into a work camp in Saskatchewan when someone found him and called AARCS for help.

She says what they desperately need now are donations to pay for the massive vet bills involved in Nero’s recovery.
