Party won’t slow down in last few days of Stampede 101

There’s still a lot to do in the last days of Stampede 101.

Sam Roberts Band headlines the Coke stage for day eight of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, with Walk Off the Earth entertaining crowds on Saturday and Hedley wrapping up the festivities Sunday night.

At Nashville North, Shane Chisholm headlines, with Friday Night Satellites as the opening act.

Saturday, it’s Chad Brownlee, with Doc Walker giving the send-off on Sunday.

All the shows are free with park admission.

Another huge party also takes place at Fort Calgary Friday; Counting Crows are among the musical acts this year, the 25th edition of the event.

The Wallflowers and Third Eye Blind will also be there; if you don’t already have tickets you’re too late, it’s a sold-out show.

There’s also only a couple days to get your fill of flapjacks at a Caravan breakfast.

Friday the Caravan is at Sunridge Mall and Brittania Plaza.

Saturday, you can get some eats at Deer Valley Centre and Coventry Hills Centre.

Attendance is still down overall from last year with about 250,000 fewer visitors going through the turnstiles.

But officials say numbers were inflated during the centennial Stampede celebration, and are actually an improvement from 2011.
