Tragedy in Edmonton as police deal with the death of a toddler after a family dinner out.

Richard Suter, 62, has been charged with one count each of impaired operation causing death and refuse demand (breath sample) causing death and two counts of impaired operation causing bodily harm after a car plowed into a restaurant patio, killing a two-year old.

Edmonton police spokesman Scott Pattison says they got the call Sunday evening at around 7:45p.m.

“Allegedly a vehicle drove through an outdoor restaurant patio hitting a family that was dining at a patio and pinning a two year old against a wall,” Pattison says.

The toddler would succumb to his injuries while the rest of the family received minor injuries.
