Registration open for summer recreation programs

If you’re looking to make sure your kids aren’t cooped up inside the house this summer, registration for the city’s recreational programs starts Monday.

More than three thousand activities are available for kids to get involved in.

Michelle Tate, Recreation supervisor from Village Square Leisure Centre tells 660News there’s something for every kid, regardless of age.

“We have a variety of things. They can register with the Parks department, we have nature programs, they can register at swim camps. There’s just so many different options for families, and because we offer such a variety in age range, for a parent, it could be one stop shopping.”

Some of what’s available includes sailing, golf, painting, and ballet.

The programs kick off after Canada day weekend and run eight to nine weeks.
