Defence lawyer to call witnesses for Calgary psychiatrist accused of sex assault

CALGARY – The lengthy trial of a former Calgary forensic psychiatrist accused of molesting several male patients will continue a bit longer.
The defence for Dr. Aubrey Levin has indicated it will call witnesses, but lawyer Chris Archer hasn’t said how many or whether his client will testify.
Levin, who is 73, is accused of fondling nine former patients, most of whom were on court-ordered visits to his office.
The allegations came to light after one of his patients secretly videoed two sessions at Levin’s office using a wristwatch equipped with a camera.
The trial began in October but was delayed after Levin fired his lawyer, then briefly represented himself before hiring Archer.
Levin has pleaded not guilty and said in a statement to police he was doing medical procedures.
