Smelly problem solved for Calgary Dairy Queen

The source of a mysterious odour that has been lingering in a northeast Calgary Dairy Queen for years has finally been found!
The owner of the restaurant on 14 Street was so fed up with the smell of natural gas, he put up a sign offering free Blizzards for a year to whoever could finally identify the source.
ATCO crews returned this week, and after extensive tests, determined it was the result of a small leak in the ceiling.
“I can smell burgers and fries [now],” owner Sujad Bandali said. “I can’t express my happiness it’s resolved, and it’s safe. I don’t want anybody to have the wrong impression.
“Few people could only smell it. It was the weirdest thing.”
Bandali explained he offered free Blizzards for a year to the ATCO workers, but they declined.
Instead, he has decided to make a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network.
“Money from Blizzard sales once a week every year will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network,” he said.
And coincidentally, Thursday marks Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day. Net proceeds from every Blizzard sold at participating DQ locations will be donated to a local Children’s Miracle Network member hospital.
