Two Alberta communities crack MoneySense top 10 ‘Best Places to Live in Canada’

Lacombe, Alberta landed the highest on the latest edition of MoneySense Magainze’s Canada’s Best Places to Live 2018.

The community just north of Red Deer ranked fifth out of 415 cities. The Rocky Mountain town of Canmore came in seventh.

The province’s two largest cities, Calgary and Edmonton were 30th and 68th, respectively, both losing points for crime.

Author, Claire Brownell explains while things like a sunset view or mountain lookout can’t be measured, there are many characteristics that can.

“There are all kinds of things that you can measure,” Brownwell explains, “Things like the unemployment rate, things like incomes, even things like health care wait times we put into the ranking.”

Oakville, Ontario is the best place to live in Canada, according to the report and Colchester County, Nova Scotia is the worst.
