Rehab continues in Airdrie for Ryan Strashnitzki

Humboldt Bronco Ryan Straschnitzki continues to show a competitive nature never really goes away when you’re an elite athlete.

It’s only been about four months since the bus crash that left Strashnitzki paralyzed and already he has been back on the ice and regularly attends physio.

He says that he has upped his workout, since he got back to Airdrie.

“It’s been different, it’s more vigorous, more intense but I think it’s good for my body. My parents are helping me less and less, not on purpose, but just because they want me to learn and be more independent,” he told City News.

Strashnitzki’s rehabilitation includes exercises that will help him re-engage his core muscles, which include planks and plank variations, working with weights and practicing movement like getting in and out of his wheel chair.
