Two garage fires damage 5 Calgary homes

Fire crews in Calgary had to deal with another serious residential fire in the city, this time in the northeast.
The fire department was called around 11:45 a.m. Saturday to reports of a structure fire in the 200 Block of Skyview Springs Garden.
When crews arrived they found two detached garages completely engulfed in flames.
It didn’t take long for firefighters to get the fires under control, but the heat from the blazes caused external damage to five nearby homes.
The two garages were completely destroyed along with three vehicles inside.
Twelve people and two pets were evacuated from five homes, but no one was injured and they were allowed to re-enter a short time later.
Investigation into the cause of the fires continues.
